Fundraising Guidelines and Fundraising Proposal Form

Pingree Student Fundraising
Rules and Guidelines
Pingree recognizes that throughout the year individual students and student-led groups will have reason to raise funds for organizations and causes about which they are passionate.
In order to manage the amount and types of “asks” extended to our community, we have put in place the following rules and guidelines.
Rules
1.     Students may not fundraise in the Pingree community for personal funds. This includes funds to sponsor a trip, buy gear, or funding to maintain membership in an organization. Pingree sponsored trips may be an exception to this, but will need to meet with committee ahead of time.
2.     Passive fundraising is not allowed (“something for nothing”). An example of passive fundraising is a dress down day.
3.     Students cannot ask other students to pay to participate in events that take place during the school day.
4.     All fundraisers must be approved by the Faculty Fundraising Committee. Students and student groups must submit their proposals at least two weeks ahead of time. The committee will review objectives, logistics, scheduling and other elements of the fundraiser to make certain that it is aligned with these rules, as well as Pingree’s mission.
5.     All money raised must be given to faculty sponsor of group. The faculty sponsor will then go through the Business Office who will issue a check directly to the organization.

6. Any fundraiser that proposes to raise more than $1000 must be approved by the Development Office.

7. Students and parents may NOT use Pingree databases in order to make solicitations (phone, email, etc.). Students MAY send out all-school emails from their accounts.
Guidelines
·      Pingree encourages students seeking to raise funds to also seek to raise awareness. We will work with students to find a way to make sure the community is informed about the cause/organization for which this student or group wishes to raise money.

·      We encourage students to actively participate in the fundraising process. This includes preparing or creating items for sale (such as for a bake sale or craft sale), or in designating services (such as leaf-raking) for sale.
